12 DAYS OF SHANMAS #6 | Winter Skincare Routine

Skincare is so incredibly important, especially when the cold air is drying it out! Now, don't get me wrong, I am terrible at moisturising at the best of times and in turn, I then suffer from dry, itchy and annoying skin throughout the winter. But not this year.

The winter can take its toll on our skin.

Skincare is so incredibly important, especially when the cold air is drying it out! Now, don't get me wrong, I am terrible at moisturising at the best of times and in turn, I then suffer from dry, itchy and annoying skin throughout the winter. But not this year.

I made it my mission to take care of my skin because I am dying at the thought of having even one wrinkle on my face. Petrified, even...

The Face

Ultimately, the skin on my face is most important to me. Since having to come off of the pill due to terrible hormone trouble, I just know my usually clear skin is going to break out big time.

Every morning and night, I start with my Garnier Aloe Toner, followed by Simple Cleansing Lotion, Clean and Clear Blackhead Wash and then I will smother my face and neck in L'Oreals Revitalift Anti Wrinkle Cream. Prevention is better than cure people!

That is pretty much it. It really is that simple to follow an affordable skin care routine that will work. While my draws are filled with fancy serums and spot creams, I hardly ever reach for them.

I don't know about anyone else but in the winter I always get a massive urge to pamper myself almost every evening. Possibly because there isn't much else to do! I love a face mask and my favourite go-to right now is the L'Oreal clay mask. I can feel it getting rid of all of the impurities and cleansing my face!

The Body

Moisturising my entire body is so BORING. So much so that I am guilty of rarely doing it. I just can't bring myself to stand in the cold, naked and alone and spend 10-20 minutes lathering creams on my body, to be honest.

However, when I force myself to take good care of my body I love anything by Ted Baker or Soap and Glory. They smell amazing and it usually convinces me that I must start a routine. ( This will last around 24 hours.)

But in all seriousness, your skin is so delicate and you should take care of it. Exfoliating in the shower or bath does wonders to get rid of any dead skin and applying a small amount of skin care products will surprise you. You don't have to suffer from dry, itchy skin! What is your current skincare routine?

Happy Shanmas day 6!

xoxo
