12 DAYS OF SHANMAS #4 | Christmas Holidays Evening Routine

Who doesn't love routine? I couldn't possibly function without it. Especially in the Christmas Holidays!

First of all, I come home to darkness, which sucks. The one thing I miss about summer is the lighter evenings. In winter, it feels like I should go straight home to bed. I feel like I accomplish much less when all I desire is an unbearably hot bath and far too many carbs.

Speak of the devil...

Carbs. I can't live without them. Luckily, I came up with a few healthy alternatives that I have been loving recently and carbs are actually helping me lose weight while comfort eating! (Blog post and recipes coming soon!) It's a Christmas miracle. Pasta dishes are delicious all year round but some of us desire that extra warmth in the colder months. I can't function at home if I don't have dinner as soon as I walk through the door!

Bath time

Baths save me when it comes to winter blues. Having a bigger bath is dangerous! I never want to get out... I could lay in there for hours if the case of wrinkly fingers didn't exsist. I am always so tired in the winter and a warm bath is my main source of comfort. Add a bath bomb and it's an absolute luxury.

Writing, writing, writing

As some of you may know I'm currently writing my first novel! And boy does it take some work. If you're a writer you'll understand how tough it can be to write when you might not feel like it. You HAVE to be in the creative flow to get through a chapter let alone a sentence so it is proving difficult.

However, since I'm going to be off work up until New Year from the 22nd, I can get this book done and dusted! I'm so excited to have a finished product, this project has taken a year and it's my baby. It has to be perfect.

Movies before bed

It's Christmas, I must treat myself to a festive flick. I never get tired of the classics. Home Alone, Elf, Love Actually and my favourite, The Holiday are just a few I'll watch during the holidays. What is your favourite? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Shanmas Day 4!

xoxo
