Prison Break - The TV Tag

I know, you've probably expected this post for a while now...

In all honesty, I am shocked that I didn't write it sooner! Then again, I am OBSESSED with this show, so how on earth am I supposed to chose between characters, storylines and favourite ships? I am almost sure that it is impossible.

With the show coming back after 7 years of grieving over Michael Scofield, season 5 was everything I wanted and more. I've managed to get my entire family and friends hooked on the best show in the world! So it was only right I start The TV Tag with good old PB.

Let's start with your favourite parallel. - Two scenes from separate seasons that have similarities.

There is a scene in season one after the riot episode, where Michael is reunited with Lincoln, then, in season 5 when they are finally reunited after seven years! I love this parallel because it shows nothing has changed between them, they still run to each other when they're scared.

Who is your favourite character?

Duh. Michael Scofield! This man is everything you could ever dream of. His intelligence is ridiculous, always 'the man with the plan.' Breaking out of three prisons and even a country is enough evidence for that. He is kind-hearted, loving and would do anything for his family. He literally ruined his clean record and went to prison just so he could break his brother out. He is obviously very easy on the eye too!

Wentworth Miller, who plays Michael, as you may know from my previous posts is literally my HERO. His work with mental health is incredible and I am so fortunate to have met him and Dominic Purcell ( Lincoln).

Who is your least fave character?

This might be an unpopular opinion, but my least favourite character is Veronica. There is something about her that annoys me, whether it's her facial expressions or how she was convinced that Lincoln was guilty at first. I have to admit, after that, her sheer determination, to help Lincoln was sweet considering it resulted in her death. I'm not going to sugar coat it, I was glad to see the back of her...

Name a character you should hate but love

Doesn't everyone have the same answer to this question? The man, the myth, the legend, Theodore Bagwell. Teddy. Tbag! I can confidently state that Tbag is the most iconic villain in television history. It's a no-brainer. The phenomenal acting from Robert Knepper makes the show, and without him, it just wouldn't be the same. His hilariously witty remarks and constant need for involvement creates brilliant TV.

It's so strange to love a character that is capable of so much evil. However, throughout the seasons, there is so much character development. You suddenly begin to feel sorry for him considering everything that happened in his life and realise he just wants to be a part of the gang...

Without Tbag, Prison Break just wouldn't be Prison Break. When I heard rumours that he would die in season 5, I promised myself I could never watch it again. *Spoiler alert* He made it out alive, phew!

What is your favourite episode?

The pilot, of course! It's the first ever episode of Prison Break and the one that gets you hooked, so much so, you end up watching the entire first season before sunrise. I am proud to admit I have seen the pilot over 10 times... perhaps even 20, and every time this scene comes on the reaction from friends and family is brilliant!

What is your least favourite episode?

All of season three. It just wasn't Prison Break to me. I hated that Michael was stuck in Sona after finally making it to Panama. It was a little gory and thinking that Sara was dead was just too far! Even by PB standards. I was kind of glad that it was only 13 episodes! The one thing I did love about season three was getting the chance to see a different side to Mahone. I learned to like him and Bellick after that.

Name a scene that made you cry the most

Season 4 - Episode 22. The moment you find out that Michael is dead. Even now, knowing that he faked it, I still sob! It was heartbreaking to see he finally could stop running. He was a free man, or so we thought at the time!

What is your favourite friendship on the show and why?

Another easy answer. Michael and Sucre are the sweetest most sincere friendship on the show. Sucre is such a great addition to the show and never fails to make us all laugh with his stupid one liners. Is that passion with an H?

I also loved the loyalty between them. They knew each other for less than a year, yet they'd both risk their lives for one another. I was more excited for their reunion in season 5 than Michael and Sara's!

If you could choose only one episode to watch for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Season 5 - Episode 9. The final ever episode as we know it. It's filled with action, drama and huge plot twists! Every moment will have you on the edge of your seat. The entire episode is so clever and mind blowing. The only part I didn't enjoy was when Whip died. Nope. It's not fair that Tbag finally had genuine family only for them to be ripped apart.

Name a character you hated at first but loved in the end

Brad Bellick. I hated him with a passion in season one and two, felt sorry for him in season three and loved him in four! I cry every time I watch the scene where he dies. He sacrificed himself for the team despite them not even being friends for more than a few months. I hate to say it but Bellick deserved better in the end.

Choose a favourite quote from each season. What are they?

Season 1. Sucre: ''John Abruzzi, John Abruzzi?'' Michael: ''John Abruzzi, John Abruzzi.'' - ICONIC.

Season 2. John Abruzzi: ''I only kneel to God, I don't see him here.''

Season 3. Gretchen: ''Gotta commend you on that boom box trick. You steal that one from 'Home Alone'?'' Lincoln: ''You fell for it, bitch.''

Season 4. "Well... if you're watching this, I'm glad. Because it means you're safe. And that's all I ever wanted. I wish I could be there with you, but, as you probably know now, I wouldn't have had much time anyway. So... I made my choice and... I don't regret it. Anyway... not that long from now, there's gonna be another little Scofield running around. And Linc, I want you to promise me, no matter what, they're gonna grow up knowing their uncle is never far away. And Sara, I want you to promise me that you're gonna keep an eye on Linc, as you may have noticed his tendency to get in trouble. You know...we spend so much of our lives not saying the things we wanna say, the things we should say, we speak in code and we send little messages... origami... so now... plainly... simply... I want to say that I love you both... very much. And I want you to promise me that you're gonna tell my child... that you're gonna tell my child... how much they're loved every day. And remind them how lucky they are to be free. Because we are. We're free now... finally! We're free!"

Season 5. Mike: ''What was my father like... my real father?'' Sara: ''He was like a storm appearing out of a clear blue sky and then disappear just as quickly.'' Mike: ''But storms... they can come back, can't they?''

So that's it. I think I'll do some more of these! As you can imagine it was pretty difficult choosing between characters and storylines when it is my favourite show on earth! I didn't even mention iconic characters like C-Note or Haywire! I made up these questions myself but feel free to do your own TV Tag! I recently wrote a similar one on Gilmore Girls which you can find here. - I have plenty more shows up my sleeve! Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Skins, That 70s Show, PLL & Full House to name a few...

I tag Zoe & Fyza - Two of my favourite writers!
