10 Things I Wish I Could Tell My Teenage Self

10 Things I Wish I Could Tell My Teenage Self...

You are not weird

Stop believing you're weird because you're a little different from the rest of the girls! Who cares if they think you do things differently, that you have jet black hair and wear whatever you find in your wardrobe. You're cool enough, kid.

Don't be afraid of being funny

Lovely and funny? You can be both ya know, and there is nothing wrong with having a laugh with the guys. Making people laugh IS lovely.

Being popular means nothing

You will have real friends that will stick by you throughout the rest of your life, and you'll make a lot of new ones, adult ones! They love you for your weird crazy self, and you'll find yourself talking to people you never gave a chance to in school. Quality over quantity, always.

Stop plucking your eyebrows

Stop Shan, please. You have sperm eyebrows, and they don't go well with your massive forehead. Don't worry; they do eventually grow back...

Remain calm when applying eyeliner

There is just no need for it. A single wing is enough; you'll find yourself believing less is more eventually. Thank god!

Get rid of that damn fringe

You have wasted a lot of time walking around with your hand stuck to your forehead. Embrace your forehead and love the breeze, your hand won't ache as much.

You haven't found the one just yet, but that doesn't mean you won't have one day

All great things come to an end! Take the good memories with you and cherish them forever. Love is a beautiful thing and just because it doesn't work out doesn't mean things have to turn sour. You can still care for old flames; they are a part of growing up!

You are not your mistakes

Don't beat yourself up for the silly things you did or said when you were younger. They won't define you as an adult.

Hold old friends close

These guys will be your friends for life, treasure those memories because even though you still love each other, you won't see them as often as you'd like. There will be a period where you drift apart, so much so it feels as if you were never true friends in the first place. Fear not, though, you'll always come back together in the end. There are still a lot of drunk times ahead, and it'll be legal!

Some of the things in your teenage life are going to affect you in the future, but trust me you'll do just fine

Just know, it gets better. Struggles mean nothing because you're strong and you can do all the things you have always dreamed of achieving.

You're a good person!

  3. Haha these are all so great. You seem like you have changed so much! I definitely wish I could tell myself to stop plucking my eyebrows as well..like the sperm look is never cute!!! I'd change the fact that I thought I was "fat" when I was 16 when in actual fact I was really skinny. Wish I could tell myself to enjoy all that junk food before my metabolism catches up haha.
Another great post, am absolutely loving your blog!!
